Salmon

The salmon has impressive, strongly toothed jaws. The coloring of its body varies according to its age. When young, it has dark transverse bands, but as it ages, it develops silvery flanks. During spawning season, it is usually dark in color, accompanied by large, black dots and red spots. A notable feature of salmon is its distinctive pink flesh, which makes it a widely known characteristic. This striking feature is due to the salmon's natural diet, which consists of crustaceans and plankton species that contain carotenoids. These carotenoids give salmon flesh its vibrant pink coloring and also contribute to the fish's health benefits.
